This is a nice little compressor for trim jobs. It’s very easy to carry around because of its light weight. It fills up fast and is quiet enough that you’re able to talk to somebody while it is running.
These are just some of the features of the DeWalt D55140:
- 135 psi maximum; durable oil-free pump; low 69 dB rating; low 2.6 amp motor
- Heavy-duty 1-gallon trim compressor with protective roll cage
- Includes 1 compressor; hose & nailer not included
- Cast-iron construction
- 9-inches wide; 24 pounds; 1-year warranty
It offers plenty of power to run a finish gun or pin nailer. It is possible to adjust the maximum pressure allowed to the hose, which makes it safe to use to fill tires on anything, including a bike.
One of the owners had this to say about the DeWalt D55140:
This is simply a great compressor for all but the heaviest of jobs.
Noise. The key benefit to this compressor is its quietness. You can actually hold a conversation while it’s re-filling. Its low noise level means that you don’t even mind that it has to re-fill more often than most of its larger competitors.
Ergonomic. The handle sits on its edge so that when carried the compressor hangs vertically from your hand barely brushing your leg or the wall as you walk up the stairs. In addition, the compressor is also quite light so that you don’t even mind having to move it.
Powerful enough. I have thrown everything but aggressive full-speed framing at it and it shines. The compressor does have to race to keep up with you if you’re really nailing along, but I haven’t had it fall behind (drop line pressure) on me yet.
Buy it. You won’t regret it.
